@skyblitz@mstdn.social @ErikJonker@mastodon.social @tante@tldr.nettime.org @Codeberg@social.anoxinon.de for this you want a deterministic, predictable linter or a compiler, not a statistical engine. "ai just for this and just for that" enables all shades of grey, and will water down anti slop stance. especially when it's not best, most beneficial tool for the task. using so-called "ai" to lint has most of social, environmental drawbacks of using it as a SaaS.

@ErikJonker@mastodon.social @skyblitz@mstdn.social @tante@tldr.nettime.org @Codeberg@social.anoxinon.de exchange of thoughts is ok, calling names not - it kills value of the public discourse. i explained my point of view. btw, i am a developer too, with 15 years of exp. thing is, use of llm is use of llm, details, motivations, definition of "boilerplate" - it just feels futile to me to argue at that level. i don't feel you have right to say your use of llm is better than someone else's.

@mntmn@mastodon.social very cool your hw is on that exhibition; also: for uninitiated, "fabrique du numérique" sounds soooo steampunk!

@Mastodon@mastodon.social @johnonolan@mastodon.xyz "turn your audience into a business." - mmm... are you sure you thought it through? i am pretty sure mastodon tries to be an antithesis of multiple, well know companies trying to turn people into a business.

@psf@oldbytes.space very elegant. most of the stuff said about the craft, often falls apart when you change an angle a bit. this just feels right. as a side note, i also appreciate how dave thomas (of "the pragmatic programmer" fame) writes, talks about software.
