This project is reimplementing beos and plan9 for the user space with a nix backend.
@sturmsucht I hope you’ll check out the nixbook project. Perfect for this.
@codemonkeymike@fosstodon.org does nixbook support:

I'm running local llm model Bonsai-8B on my 2015 MacBook Pro with CachyOS. With 2GB vram and an Intel i7-4870HQ I get 0.3 tokens per second.

@mhoye ok this is interesting. I have an overview understanding of SystemD. Can you expand on this? What init system do you prefer?

From the maker:
Release is up. Please give it a shot. You will need to make this device your dns server. town-os.github.io for instructions. You can use github.com/erikh/attrou... and github.com/erikh/eeroctl if you want some easy ways to adjust your dns settings.
It's still very early, but there are applications.

Yesterday I wiped Windows off this old computer my friends used as his only computer. I put on Nixbook. But I didn’t realize people still use computers this slow! I don’t think Nixbook sped it up at all but at least he can keep using it with updates.
I think I’ll gift him some ram and an ssd…
This video works for me

Its a ASUS Vivobook S 15 S5507QA. I’m putting nixbook on for a friend who doesn’t want Windows 11. The flashed usb isn’t recognized by the bios. I’ll keep looking into it.

@crmsnbleyd@hachyderm.io @sunguramy@flipping.rocks I am. I have a friend high up at NASA. For me leftism is equalizing power, education, control, and material reality. Those are not NASA’s goals. NASA is about pushing the boundaries of exploration. Get the smartest engineers together to push outward. I’m in construction and I’ve never heard a laborer “inspired” by any of it. There are so many bad arguments, I couldn’t talk them through in a toot, but I have counters.

@ariaflame@masto.ai @crmsnbleyd@hachyderm.io @sunguramy@flipping.rocks I don't think everyone should have the same goals, but if we want to live in a good world we all need to be heading in the direction of equalizing power and knowledge. That doesn't mean same knowledge and power, it means towards equivalent.
I hear you challenging me. I work on all kinds of homes. My focus is on human connection, not statistics.
I work on one green home. Two people, one huge "green" 20Million dollar home. It isn't ideal.

@ariaflame@masto.ai @crmsnbleyd@hachyderm.io @sunguramy@flipping.rocks alright, I find your contribution to this thread lame. If you want to argue with people you’ll get a bunch of arguements. That’s not why I come here.
