I post a variety of things here and I take lots of photos to document what I see at any moment and share some of those.

USDA 7a, Heat zone 6 / -5F to 110F+ degrees range of fun.

GenX

I've spent a long time fighting fire.

While most cops don't actually live where they work, they commute by car. The Chief of Police of Seattle lives in Chicago. That's 2 timezones away for our international audience, or 1700 miles, 2700 km... The funny thing is that a City of Chicago police officer is required to live in that city.

I almost died from chicken thighs. I was getting things out of the freezer and bumped some chicken thighs on the top shelf, put them back, finished pulling out the bag of shrimp, then proceeded to pull a chicken out of the bottom drawer as the frozen chicken thighs tried to escape again and landed on my head. 💥 Not as bad as the time when I had a 6 inch log over my head using it as a lever to rock the bumper that was stuck on a ledge of dirt.. and it broke. That rung my bell.

We have bok choy, or pak choi, in 2 days! Not on the heat, just under the lights.

I'm not sure the frog wants to bee friends but he was still singing away.

Planted out the rest of the bok choy so I can officially have way too many bok choy plants, unless 18 isn't too many. This bed will get melons planted in it eventually. The center is being left to the fireweed growing in it and some marigolds that have sprouted and were put in there.

Hawaiian chili peppers, Burpee big guy jalapeno, Red marconi sweet peppers, and 8 pots of replanted a week ago California Wonder sweet bell peppers. There's a full tray of 18 maximilian perennial sunflowers. The Detroit dark red beets are starting to come up too, some pea sprouts are visible along with most of the radish that are up, and most of the spinach and arugula up.

@Weirding_Is_Real@mstdn.social I have not and I was really surprised when he wasn't just staying still and started in on his song. He kept closing his eyes when the bees were licking them too. Very strange.

@Broadfork@mastodon.green My peas look like they might be trying to grow back but I probably should just push some more seeds into the ground there. There also seems to be something still eating on things in that bed, even the bok choy that was poking out the top of the cloches that I removed this morning.

@Broadfork@mastodon.green I've hesitated on the replanting because they're peas and unless there's something specific to these kinds I assumed they could be planted as a cover crop and grow back after a winter. It's a double row spaced off center so I can just seed the center and let it do it's thing I guess.

Replying to
@jpaskaruk@growers.social Yes, I allowed two plants to remain in those pots with the idea that if the recipient gets one I don't have to give them two for pollination.
