Fastmail United USA

Hello everyone! We are workers at @fastmail@mastodon.social US, and we're so excited to share that we are forming a union with CWA!

We look forward to working with Fastmail leadership to build a future we are all proud of, and continuing to make email better!

Hello everyone!

We have some unfortunate news. @fastmail@mastodon.social has made the decision to lay off 60% of our bargaining unit, including our bargaining committee, in a surprise restructure while we were in the middle of contract negotiations. Fortunately, we were able to negotiate for a much better severance package than we would have gotten had we not unionized when we did. We are grateful for the work that the Communication Workers of America put in on our behalf to get us the best deal they could.

Hi everyone, sorry for going so long without an update!

While Fastmail management declined to give us voluntary recognition, today we had our NLRB vote, and unionizing with CWA won with 75% of the vote! We're looking forward to negotiating a contract with Fastmail that helps ensure a safe and equitable future for everyone here!

Thanks to everyone who offered their support throughout this process!

Thank you everyone for your support. We've had a lot of folks asking about how best to support us at this time.

If you want to make your disappointment known to Fastmail leadership, that is appropriate. Please keep in mind that the first line of contact in support tickets and social media will generally be our support agents.

We just want to say thanks so much to everyone for the warm welcome and the words of support!

We'll be sure to keep y'all updated when there's news to share!
