Preparing some slides on my favourite topic of the moment - #HippocampalReplay - for some colleagues, starting from lecture slides I made about 8 years ago...
and I keep crossing stuff or adding "BUT see xx" or "actually not" or "Now controversial!" to about half of the results that I was taking from granted 8 years ago 👀

I'm obviously in favour of replications but sometimes it's such a low-hanging fruit, I feel that with what is at your disposal - for example - once you get a Nobel, you could really take more risks.. Often these kind of papers look like the experiment's first aim was to validate a technique.. But you could still do that while having a task designed to answer a new question?
