This is how I felt when I found out I had sleep apnea. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been constantly tired, and unable to focus. Then I heard about the symptons, got diagnosed, got a sleep device, and suddenly I could stay awake, and focus. I’m sharper than I’ve ever been, and I have sooooooo much energy. I often wonder how differently my life would have turned out if we had a society that, like, ya know, had sympathy for kids, and tried to understand where they were coming from instead of treating health issues like a moral failing.

I always woke up really grumpy, and feeling unrested. I was tired throughout the day, even after 8+ hours of sleep. Getting really hot, and sweating all night. Being hungry all the time. A lot of those have other causes, so it was a bit difficult to pin down. But I’m glad I did.

As a hard-of-hearing person, I need either subtitles, or super-loud volume. But bad sound-mixers in todays movies make everyone mumble right before giant explosions. And I really hate that Meta fucked up smart-glasses for everyone. We could have had IRL subtitles for people like me on local-only glasses, that don’t record people, but they had to make it creepy.

I ran Debian on one of the surface pros a few years ago. It took a bit of hardware hacking, but it was great. I use a TWM and spend most of my time in the shell, so I didn’t get to utilize a lot of the OS features. But things like reading comics, and surfing the web were pretty cool. I always wondered if Gnome would be a better interface for it. It seems like they’ve been leaning that direction for a while.

I don’t think they were “surprised” by it. It seems like they thought it was a search result. Which is fair, IMO. If DDG didn’t want people to mistake that for a search result, then they shouldn’t put it in the spot where the search results go.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwZi58u1FjI - The Dragon Speech All the higher mammals learn by playing, by doing, by interacting. And indeed, the higher the mammal, the more of its life it spends in play to prepare itself for adulthood. So you can see, this active role of the mind is fundamental to the way we think. It’s wired into our brains. It’s a really great speech, and a lot of it is about the failures of our educational system.

Unfortunately yeah, these things still happen with Linux. I love linux, and I don’t use Windows, but all the “Linux never does anything wrong”, or “works on my machine, it must be a skill issue” people don’t realize how much that prevents people from moving over. Linux is a looooooot better than it used to be, but pretending that problems don’t exist, is how Linux, and the culture surrounding it, got such a bad reputaion for such a long time.

I don’t pirate music, I buy it from Bandcamp. Then I download the files to my storage server and sync it to my phone, or play it with MPD. I wish I could do the same with movies and TV shows…

It has proven to be less effective at stopping the orphan crushing machine than voting for democrats. Has it? Did the orphan crushing machine even slow down a little bit when democrats were in power? Because I’m pretty sure that it didn’t.

What meaningfully different results? Biden fast tracked money for the border wall. Stole from the working class to give handouts to his rich friends. Increased ICE, Police, Pentagon, and war funding. Deported immigrants, and sent them to torture prisons. The Democrats were blowing up kids in syria. They were supporting genocide. They did more deportations than Trump’s first term. Lets look at the treaties and deals that they made: Dictators, Slave-Owners, Racists, Genocidists. Wow, what “meaningfully different results”.

Different doesn’t mean Biden was good, just that he was so much better than the alternative. “so much better” is where we disagree. The dude was a monster. Did his administration blow up ships in international waters with no approval? Not that I know of. But he sure did that to innocent people on land. Deport citizens arrested by ICE to third-world countries with no trial and refuse to bring them back? Yes Dismantle USAID, killing multiple thousands of people? Nope, but he forced people back to dangerous offices, killing thousands. He backed a genocide, killing multiple thousands. Bombed the hell out of who-knows-how many people. I don’t really care what tool someone used to kill others, I care that they killed others. Remove protections from federal land and allow nature to be destroyed? Arrest citizens for using privacy features on their phones? Violate the first-amendment rights of national television broadcasters? Yes Let goons run around with full illegal access to every government database? Yes Deny healthcare to women based on their marital status? No, but he sat back and did nothing when that happened, and had the full power to help them. Beat and jail people protesting ICE raids? Yes Lie, cheat, scam, rape, steal, corrupt, and otherwise destroy anything they get their hands on? Yes I could go on, but it’s clear that you are ignoring my point: We were talking about “meaningfully different results”. Just because Biden didn’t do the exact same things as Trump doens’t mean that Biden gave us “meaningfully different results”.

And I don’t understand how you can see them do the above listed things, and claim that there is an “enormous gulf between the two primary options”. Yes, there are minor differences, but to say there is an “enormous gulf”, serously downplays how evil and monsterous Biden was. Liberals refusing to see how evil and monsterous their politicians are, is one of the reasons that other monsters like Trump keep getting elected.

Well, if you ignore the bad things that someone does, then I can see how this can be confusing. I participate in US news discussions all the time, that’s how I know that Biden is a terrible person, who did terrible things. If you want to be less confused, I’d recommend that you do the same.

Sure, heres a few of them. For future reference, there are these things called “Search engines” that let you find stuff that you don’t know about. You should try them out. But something tells me that you won’t do any research, and you likely won’t even look into these. law.ucla.edu/…/no-fair-day-damning-new-report-rev… eff.org/…/internal-documents-show-how-little-fbi-… news.oilandgaswatch.org/…/despite-biden-climate-p… winknews.com/…/article_9426cba4-e60c-5ce2-b516-7d… theguardian.com/…/steven-donziger-lawyer-sentence… politico.com/…/biden-gaza-not-genocide-israel-001… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamas_baby_beheading_hoax internationalpolicy.org/…/the-biden-administratio…

You did provide several articles that, while not technically disproving any individual claim I made, make good points that the Biden admin is not entirely innocent on some of the topics related to the points I mentioned. Still, as I’ve probably said before, the difference in scale is important. Yeah, it is important. While Trump is a 9/10 monster, Biden is only an 8/10 monster, who supports Trump, and helps him out with his projects.

I literally posted articles explaining how he did the things you listed. I’m not sure how to make that any more clear. (Also, I’m not a liberal.) Then why are you supporting them, and fighting against people who are accurately pointing out that they are monsters? You are free to view it that way, but it would be unreasonable to claim that is the only way to view it in light of the many differences I pointed out. Yes, I am able to view it correctly. But it is not unreasonable, considering that you didn’t really highlight differences. You highlighted things that Biden also very much did, as evidenced above.
