Collections of my debris recordings are available as EPs on Bandcamp, Mirlo, and Faircamp: https://daveriedstra.bandcamp.com/album/sympath-debris https://mirlo.space/dried/releases https://daveriedstra.com/albums These are slightly more cleaned-up versions of traces generated by my studio practice which could broadly be described as "quiet gentle noise and feedback" and "electroacoustic studio field recordings". The debris log has many more: https://daveriedstra.com/debris #debris #BandcampFriday #mirlo

Performing a score for 12 improvisers in #Kitchener on Sunday! The ensemble is awesome and the space sounds so good. If you're into improvised acoustic music, you'll want to catch this!

Sidequest: cleaning up the BB bass.

I picked up this instrument (Yamaha BB 424) last summer on the cheap as it was languishing in a basement in Stratford. I was able to fix the neck bow a few days ago so now it's finally time to clean up the fretboard and try to coax out some thump with La Bellas, which I've been wanting to try for a while. Hoping to use this for a few tunes on a pop gig I've got coming up.

@entreprecariat@post.lurk.org Tauon. It's okay. The GUI eye-candy is nice but actually browsing feels a little clunky (the search is good though, if you already know what you're looking for). It has a neat quasi-auto-import feature that I use where it will watch a downloads folder for new zip files that look like music and offer to extract & move them into the library. Works great with things Bandcamp downloads, as long as you're happy with the existing tags & folder structure.

@servo @webbeef I'm mostly asking because of the "don't log on to your banking just yet" notice on the servo downloads page. It's unclear what it refers to, but it makes me think I should be waiting for some announcement / feature (maybe the sandboxing) before fully adopting servo. Thanks for the invitation to contribute. I'm not confident enough in my rust to go near security things (and also don't have the hardware mentioned in that issue), but I'll take a look for low hanging fruit sometime!

@servo @webbeef Does this mean that servo is secure enough for everyday general use?

@votetanille@socialbc.ca haha I bet! I use AntennaPod on Android and it works well. The home screen is pretty noisy by default but can be configured down.
