The propaganda campaign at the other end too ; the illusion that people are rich because they are worthy creators of wealth.
Whereas the truth is that they are rich ... because of the rest. As Nick Hanauer puts it, without industrial civilzation, the most entrepreneurial guy in the world still just sells fruit at the side of the road.
They see the "poor" as their stepping stones and drool at the prospect of replacing us with silicon and steel.

Having to deal with a system where they've THOUGHT it was their local EBCDIC view for decades, but it turns out that was just what they had their local terminals configured to and the backend was set to a different view.

On top of this the vendor supplied database conversion tool, by default, assumes your database is German. Which this one isn't.

I've seen a lot of devs talking about how agentic dev is addictive recently - stories about how people are staying sober at parties so they can get back to their code, setting alarms for when their token allocation refreshes, etc.
So it's not surprising to see people turn pusher to exploit that craving.
