@internetarchive@mastodon.archive.org I'm with you on that. And also, as a responsible writer and researcher, I refuse to reference such newspapers unless there's no alternative. If they want to make them themselves inaccessible, then I will treat them as just that. Of course, sometimes you have no choice because some of these major newspapers get the story before anyone else. But most of the time you could find the same material from a different outlet that had long-term policies that made sense.

@jonmsterling Not really, though. Your historical claim is inaccurate (there were times when people didn't play together nicely), and your wording about the future is incorrect too (it won't set things back; it will delay them). Maybe you have a worthwhile message, I dunno, but this version of it needs major revision... Or not, do whatever you want.

@skinnylatte no lol ... When cast iron is properly seasoned, you don't have to be so picky about re-seasoning. No need to hurry, no benefit.

@joost@freesewing.social @freesewing@freesewing.social All the security by obscurity folks, they will just get secretly pwn3d ... AI doesn't make that any different.

@pianophile@mastodon.social @zachweinersmith.bsky.social @pluralistic@mamot.fr well now, first of all don't ever trust a door to door salesman ... that's all he ever was, a con artist

@georgetakei@universeodon.com Never take their words as true. The AI snake oil salesman are chronic liars. Their bubble is bursting and they are scared. Remember, everything they say is a lie. If they sound reflective or apologetic or worried, they are still lying.
