RE: https://hachyderm.io/@rubenwardy/115912429390885486

The folks at @Luanti@floss.social are struggling to collect the last bits for their #FOSDEM funding. I already donated in order to be able to meet these wonderful people in Bruxelles.

Please donate. ❤️

As I was a journalist in a past life, and I'm guilty as charge, I feel the need to also spread this

https://karlbode.com/ceo-said-a-thing-journalism/

The Fine Print*

"CEO Said A Thing!" Journalism

"CEO said a thing!" journalism involves parroting the claims of a business leader or executive with absolutely no context, correction, or challenge whatsoever, no matter how elaborate the delusion.

Replying to

@zacchiro I’ve been also noticing a very diverse audience and a very diverse speakers lineup. I’m very proud of the direction the community is head towards, and also a little bit worried that this is becoming too big for UBL. But I love it.

Replying to

@rubenwardy@hachyderm.io @lazza@mastodon.social @Luanti@floss.social I’d expect also something coming out from the devroom organizers especially if they _invite_ you :D FOSDEM hands off a lot of that organizational burden on the shoulders of single devroom admins so maybe they could gather some travel budget too. In the end being it a free conference it’s very hard to offer anything anyway

Replying to

@koalalorenzo@mastodon.social that would be amazing! It's just a really regular Go program so I doubt it will give you headaches, the only thing is IDK whether Nix' derivation system offers you a way to declare dependencies using OR statements (like, it depends on docker || podman)
