Hey all, how's it going? Just back from a wonderfully relaxing long weekend in Connecticut. Highly recommend the Spa at Norwich Inn, wonderful staff, comfortable rooms, tasty food, and spa treatments both excellent and reasonably-priced. A perfect break from the stressful world.

We were driving home when the news came in about Dolly Parton. What a beautiful, talented, generous woman she was. We listened to this and cried a little. https://youtu.be/lKsQR72HY0s?is=zCWNa1g7C88xup2L

Morning all. I'm looking for some new #Podcasts to listen to while commuting or working, particularly from #Disabled and/or #LGBTQ+ creators. Interests include speculative fiction, sports, pop culture, history, nature and assistive tech. All recs welcome.

Happy Friday all! My firm's getting a new case management system next week, so ahead of the craziness I decided to give myself an early birthday present and take today off. There's breakfast on the way, the rest of Abbot Elementary S5 to watch, and a delicious dinner with friends later.

I'm 39 and feeling, mostly, fine!! Had to work on my birthday but still had a lovely day, highlighted by lunch with co-workers and pizza and cupcakes with the family. Now just praying for a Mets win to make today even better.

In other news, I've been playing a ton of Kingdom of Loathing lately. It's a browser-based game that's been around for at least 20 years. Turns out it's just as absorbing as it was in 2006, and now I can pop it open on my phone and have a few adventures during my lunch break or on the bus.

@JonathanMosen@caneandable.social oh cool, didn't know they had one out there. if you're ever on Long Island you should check out Cradle of Aviation. we have a ton of air and space history out here, Charles Lindbergh took off from Mitchell Field which is right near where I went to college, and the company that built the lunar lander was in my hometown and employed many of my dad's neighbors.

Highly recommend for jokes, wordplay, and fun times beating up fraternity orcs and other monsters. I'm AuntiePesto the Pastamancer on there if you want to hang. Just have to figure out how to get chat working on mobile. https://www.kingdomofloathing.com/login.php?loginid=34359558d5eb4312920a4b75093cffb5

@JonathanMosen@caneandable.social What an incredible visit!! I went there with my family when I was 13 but I feel like there was a lot we didn't get to see. Atlantis wasn't there yet for one thing. Have you been to the Air and Space museum in DC yet? that's pretty awesome too.

@JonathanMosen@tweesecake.social I'm still in shock. This was my preferred news station, the presenters had so much more personality than their competition on 1010 WINS. I used to listen every day while I ate breakfast before school or work. It got me through 9/11, Hurricane Sandy, and the COVID pandemic. The signal was strong enough I could even pick it up in Rhode Island when we visited my grandma. Hard to believe it's gone.

Now it's back to the grind tomorrow, but at least I have T. Kingfisher's latest which I might've woken up at 4 AM to start reading. Only about 30% into Daggerbound and already want a whole series starring this unlikely quartet of adventurers. Wishing you a relatively stress-free week.

@payown@dragonscave.space Think I might've found my new favorite podcast app. Great job!!! Would you consider adding a browsable podcast directory in future, or the ability for app users to recommend shows or episodes?
