Samantha Shannon's "Priory of the Orange Tree" trilogy (which is *awesome*) has both good and bad dragons, and a very cool magic system quite unlike anything I'd seen elsewhere. Lovely books, beautiful to read.

@flatplanet@mastodon.ie @troed@swecyb.com @Sylocule@cyberplace.social @pluralistic@mamot.fr There is a "technical" reason not to, which is that much of the fibre rollout in Ireland (whether from open Eir or NBI or SIRO) plugs into infrastructure which is largely based on passive optical networks. While many of the recent installs are based on XGS-PON, these networks by their nature are quite asymmetrical, focusing on download speed.

@Wherearemykeys @henryseg @csk @jsm28 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aperiodic_tiling is a decent place to start; it covers some of the key history of the problem and is in the process of being updated with the current information.
The paper linked above is also very readable; it introduces its jargon gradually.
Searching for "Penrose Tiles" will probably also yield some interesting reads.
