@caseyliss on the flipside you have this. I find this stuff equally toxic. The self-righteousness of those who oppose other folks politics with an equivalent amount of hate and thus can’t compartmentalize is just bad today. I try to be a voice of reason and separate the product entirely from politics and personalities, or the self interest of their shareholders. Does the man have flaws? Absolutely. Do they also make amazing cars with incredible tech as an affordable luxury ? Absolutely.

@siracusa Why would they be on Masto or Blue Sky though? Mastodon is only nerds and Blue Sky just a colony of Twitter ex-pats who veered heavily on one side of the political spectrum.

@ravi Of course... so to split hairs and ignore a great product because you don't see eye to eye with the CEO about things not pertaining to the product is silly, petty, and tribal.

@nileane@nileane.fr @siracusa@mastodon.social isn’t that the microcosm of the internet though? You browse the content you want to browse? There is no moderation on the internet as a whole and it exist and people use it. Everyone bookmarks their taste in websites and opinions. You aren’t protecting anyone on social networks when the rest of the Internet is still out there for the taking. So I get this approach otherwise it just gets political and what a social network thinks it’s appropriate or not.
