#introduction - first post on any Mastodon setup. Hello to all.

I like to use social media for finding #art #longreads, good articles, things relating to #nature especially #animals . I work in software, so typically, I like technology.

Finding engaging music would be fun too.

Largely a passive user of SM but share things I like and might post about any old thing I find interesting.

Based in Dublin, Ireland.

A while ago I had an idea about training different chatbots on different Irish news site comment sections. Then making a game where participants have to guess which site the bot they're talking to was trained on.

Then I didn't bother and now I realise that swimming in sewage will still make you feel bad, even if you're trying to be clever.

There are so many non-toxic things to engage with.

Like more people, I find tech "heroes" to be a weird idea, but Elon Musk has to be the one most celebrated for the image he sells, rather than his net effect.

People who bang the "Edison ripped off Tesla et al" drum, celebrating a contemporary Edison.

Starting my first project to use monorepos for node modules. Learning the "how" ins't so hard, but the following article was really helpful as an example fo where "why" becomes true: javascript and monorepos https://macwright.org/2016/07/08/lerna-npm-organizations-new-wave-modularity.html
