I don't think I ever shared this here either... but you can totally check out the *~ final version ~* of my PhD thesis, "Graded Modal Types for Memory and Communication Safety", if you're interested! lots of really cool stuff in there in my humble opinion, although for anyone who has followed my publications over the last several years you have probably seen most of it before https://kar.kent.ac.uk/113723/

(by the way - types.pl gets a shout-out in my slightly ridiculous and overly earnest acknowledgements section :types_dot_pl:)

happy 17776 day to all who celebrate 🛰️🏈

oh, I still haven't properly announced this on here, have I? well, now that things are getting a bit more official...

I'm delighted to say that next month I'll be moving down to west London and starting a new postdoc position at Royal Holloway University of London, working with Julien Lange on the INDIMO project! we're looking at developing new techniques and tools to automatically detect bugs in message-passing concurrent systems (right in my wheelhouse), and particularly focusing on programs that have statically unknown parameters (which is certainly less up my typical alley - but excited to learn ☺️)

I'm also very happy to *f i n a l l y* be able to move in together with my wonderful partner, who by the way is also starting a new job at Imperial College London next month - so congratulations to her as well ❤️

and as promised, a few pics from a wonderful weekend in Harrogate ☺️ had three separate chances to go up on stage and perform all sorts of things on Saturday, and then Sunday was just full of singing and joy and chats with good friends - not even a roasting hot journey home on Monday could spoil the fun! ❤️ also, the most exciting news of all - seems like I’ve managed to get my first proper quartet going… and I’m not even singing bass? 👀 watch this space! ✨

while I've been spending the weekend swanning around a very sunny Harrogate doing all sorts of lovely singing (which I shall post about later), the videos of our set from the World Mixed competition in Germany have finally been released! here's our medley of two songs from The Sound of Music (you might be able to spot me on the back row)...
