For the second time this year I'm at a conference in a place with mountains and I may now boycott any future meetings which don't meet this requirement.

I tried using AI transcription to dictate hill logs.
It is not entirely successful.
On the off-chance that you want to know what I think of various Discworld books, I've started re-reading them and making notes:

You might think you're neurotic, but I bet you've never used a spectrum analyser to check whether you're actually tone deaf before.
The organisation I work for has a schedule for assigning people certain tasks.
At some point this started being called the ROTA. It is now always capitalised. Previously it had been the rota.
Somehow nobody has ever, to my knowledge, challenged this apparent invention of an acronym. I don't know what it could possibly stand for. As far as I can tell it remains a rota and we just collectively decided one day to make it the ROTA...
Only while trying to work over an ssh connection do you discover how many tunnels are on the railway between Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Very excited that the first day of summer 2024 in Glasgow is also the last day of meteorological summer.
Well timed, Glasgow, well timed.
TIL That there are four trig points in the UK which are made of cannons which have been sunk into the ground...
