I agree with you but I reckon his reasoning is to release transcript feature as fast as possible and to add other stuff like search or support for existing transcripts later, however overcast is MUCH more usable in area of transcripts than many podcasting 2.0 apps that serve me FAT paragraphs in transcripts while overcast show just ONE current line , so usability of overcast already beats podcasting 2.0 apps and once automatic chapters added by Marco then really game over
Do I understand the difference between being audio-only podcaster and YouTuber correctly:
Podcaster: rarely individual episodes are consumed (listened) by non-subscribers
YouTuber: often individual episodes are consumed (watched) by non-subscribers
Podcaster: can lie about number of subscribers, and about number of listens as no way to get objective info
YouTuber: can’t lie about number of subscribers and views as that info is public and objective
