I'm pretty sure I've used the original (by the fabulous Dirty Dozen Brass Band), but this uptempo version is fun to listen to as well ... Et ceterum censeo: No pasarán. M.

Canon Showcase - Canon RF 45mm f/1.2

Just been playing around with this around the house, and haven’t had a proper outing with it yet. On loan from a buddy. No edits - straight out of camera. I like the falloff and bokeh. Seems like an enjoyable lens so far, and likely one I will eventually buy.

Not for me, I don't think it would add to or improve the images me and other rangefinder users here get from their gear and it's hard not to suspect this being some likely successful attempt to get devotees to hand over their cash (got all the APOs and Noctiluxes? - Well then you'll need to add...

I think a little celebration is in order. I've almost certainly used this before, but such a nicely ascending number on such a day - a first-of-the-month after a "Single in" - warrants a bit of a classic ... Et ceterum censeo: No pasarán. M.

Lens - Vivitar Series 1 VMC 800mm f/11 Solid Catadioptric

I recently acquired a Vivitar Series 1 Solid Cat in very good condition for a reasonable price. I've wanted one for man years due to their uniqueness and to see if the lens would be of any use to me. So, a bit of some experimentation for me especially since reports by users vary on almost...

Micro 4/3 - OM3 vs OM-5 ii

I'm looking to get back into mu43. I am primarily a nature photographer. Insects, birds, etc. are my bread and butter. (Is that an American expression?) I was looking at the OM-5ii, but it's doesn't seem to be better than my XT-5/-50. My research seems to indicate the OM3 would be much...

Strange things people say

I was doing my usual amble through the flea market last weekend, with my Z fc and TTArtisan 35mm. An older man was standing by a food booth and pointed at my camera. "Is that an Instamatic"? he said I was taken completely by surprise. Blind-sided by THAT specific question you may say! After...
