Servo's collective has 555 contributors as of today. Imagine if many tech/tech adjacent companies interested in the web all decided to carry a bit of that load and tried to change the governance model of what it means to be a web engine... It could be really interesting.

Am I the only one who gets stressed out by the countdown in a authenticator app?
Holy cow they found my bags at the airport 9 days later!
Patiently over here waiting to put the class "nose" on all select menus as soon as we get ::picker sorted out. Because, yes, I am very mature.
I got this 10 inch x 4 foot log cut and hauled to my garden which i intend to attempt to sculpt having never really done quite that kind of thing before (i did do tru two hatchet sculptures on much much smaller logs)..should be interesting
Are you coming to @igalia@floss.social's @webhackfest@floss.social ? Have something you'd like to talk with people about or show off? Missing @w3c@w3c.social breakouts?
We have them too! Submit a breakout:

New Blog Post: Priority of Constituencies
I've been thinking a lot recently about the W3C's Priority of Constituencies...
Let's play a game...
"In another universe {pick a pivotal web choice} was {something else instead}" - what changes?
For example, I often wonder hyptotheticals like if TimBL had started with basically markdown instead of HTML where would we be now... Or, if we had nipped sections/headings in '91?
If you have some fun ones, let's hear them
Wait... can you not pause or rewind an ad on youtube? Believe it or not I just tried to do this for the first time because I overheard something that sounded unbelievable and I just wanted to re-listen. You'd think that would be _good_ for them?
I think I haven't used Windows since like 08 or something. I use the terminal every day. I just typed "dir" into the terminal window. How?
I can't believe with all of the swipe to pay things I haven't seen someone (hello, disney?) offer a magic wand credit card.
An _almost_ complete representation of @igalia@floss.social attendees at BlinkOn 21 on the Redmond Campus - h/t to @slightlyoff@toot.cafe for the photo
New Blog Post: Browsers and Language Features
Web browsers do an astounding amount of stuff with language & we're always trying to do more. Like most things that we get "for free" & don't give a lot of attention to, there is a lot more to it than you might realize.
What do you think would be different if we'd landed E4X? Would it have changed anything about where we are? Would it be better or worse because of it?
If you're unfamilliar https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ECMAScript_for_XML - you can see 2004 > JSX relationships etc
"Maybe don't fuck with shit if you don't need to" - @scottohara@mastodon.social
Maybe the best design principle :)
Me: NFL, not cool moving games to multiple streaming services and makimg it super hard and expensive for fans to watch games that are still at least 50% commercials..
NFL: Sorry.
Me: so you'll fix it?
NFL: lol, no, but just for that, the Superbowl is on Valentine's Day this year.
We're getting close to episode 100 of @igalia@floss.social chats ... Should we do something special? Ideas?
Wait RFKs brainworm was disclosed when he was trying to get out of alimony payments to his second wife in 2012, and around the same time, he was also diagnosed with severe mercury poisoning?!? And now his job is....?
"Under the weather" is a strange expression. Aren't we all under the weather, all the time - unless maybe if you are in space or something?
The W3C Advisory Board nominations are open (@ab@w3c.social) from now until the end of the month. If you don't know about the W3C I wrote a quick ~400 word primer in 2017 which still more or less holds uphttps://bkardell.com/blog/W3CPrimer.html
You have to be a member org to nominate someone - but not to be nominated! If you can think of someone who would be great to nominate, please let us know! There are lots of ACs who I'm sure would love to have someone to nominate

@cwilcox808@c.im @Meyerweb@mastodon.social ugh, thanks. Probably unfixable at this point. Apologies.
Really psyched to get to see @sarah_edo@hachyderm.io talk today and meet her irl at last after like 15 years of following online
Amazing, I've been lobbying for this for years: blinkon 21 is hosted by Microsoft! Maybe igalia next? 🙂 Love it
On my way to blinkon!
I hate it when I specifically remember a comment made on Twitter or GitHub but then no matter how I try cannot find it. It leaves me somewhat questioning my own sanity.
Google should have an in-house salon and when you get a reminder they should send it as "Intent to Snip".

When I see something like this in my head I know that the change between passing and failing will at some point be totally imperceptable to me - because that is what a line would mean - but it never doesn't suprise me that I literally cannot tell between the last passing and first failing
Seattle light rail is really nice. I wonder why i feel like its so much nicer than busses?
I wish things could be politically fairly boring for a minute

"The program is already written, and the same program runs every time whether you write any CSS or not... All you get to write is basically.... config." (paraphrasing, but I think I captured it)

"I don't really trust abstinence only based approaches to CSS":). As in "just never use ids" or "avoid the cascade" or even "don't learn it at all, just trust an LLM" etc..

@Meyerweb@mastodon.social waking up on my friend's couch to speed racer (the cartoon one) is literally my earliest memory.
I think I've now read everything tim wu has written, and they've all been great

Has anyone ever done like, a cable subscription, but for news online? Like, I don't mind paying for news but I get links to a million sites and I'm not managing subscriptions to all of them individually.

@meisterluk @igalia it would be interesting to hear his take on the eventual solution were getting maybe, but I'm sure he's got other things to do 😀
I'm really surprised by this... Like, over 40% of people don't feel awkward not talking to the drivers?

@cwebber@social.coop [ too many toots ] 🐘
I was joking but now I wonder if some server would rate limit toots mistakenly?
