@Maroon@clew.lol the only sense in which it might be good is that you could design specific DSLs for various domains that make expressing certain concepts easier without colliding into other parts of the engine
nobody likes DSLs anymore though so I doubt it would catch on

what about a game engine where each module is written in a different language and the method by which they talk to each other is a C call API as the lingua franca
write your physics code in COBOL, write your graphics in rust, write your audio in Jai, fuck it write your gameplay in Malbolge for all we care

@harblinger@wizard.casa this idea, much like my idea about using lisp syntax as an abstraction over assembly, is not really an idea born out of a desire for productivity, but rather one based on pure autism and "it would be neat if it worked this way"

@creamqueen@clubcyberia.co @ammonios@clubcyberia.co @cassidyclown@clubcyberia.co back on the west coast my wife worked with a miata owner. Apparently there was this guy that kept coming around their office and trying to get her to sell it to him even though she said no several times. Apparently she had to file a restraining order

@neatnik@social.lol it seems to be an annual truth that some people value the specific moral character and ideology of the people who make a thing (to varying levels of quality-detriment) while others care about the quality of a product and ignore the character of the person who has made the thing, and that these two groups keep forgetting about each other and being shocked to learn there are people who are not like them
maybe it's just the churn of young people learning the lesson because they were never introduced to it in formal education or childhood

@harblinger@wizard.casa reminds me of the time I bought myself a nice copy of the poetic edda and the translator spent the majority of the forward saying "I KNOW NAZIS LIKE THIS BOOK BUT..."
