Going camping with my son for the first time next week. Had to buy a portable coffee maker first 😜
For the past two months, I've been using #AI for #coding. There wasn't much to complain about the generated code, but it wasn't anything I couldn't have done just as well-or better-myself.
However, I've noticed that I barely had to exert any mental effort or engage in deep thinking sessions.
I decided not to use AI for this type of work. Otherwise, I risk losing the very thing that has earned me my salary over the last years: deep, critical thinking to solve problems.
My OpenClaw wasn’t available this morning via Signal. I always got the error: this account is not registered anymore 😧
It took me an hour this morning to find out that Signal had unregistered all registrations that had not used SPQR (https://github.com/AsamK/signal-cli/issues/1993).
After updating to the latest signal-cli version and re-registering, my bot is back.
Things you don’t want on a Saturday morning.

@jessienab@wetdry.world I have moved from Posteo to Proton. The reasons was that my mail adress got more spam/phishing mails and Posteo didn’t considered these as this, even when there where clear indication in the Mail Header.
And I like the unlimited random aliases feature in proton, which allows me to setup for each service an random Mail Adresse.
You can use +aliases in Posteo, but they leaking your real address and you can start a conversation from these aliases.

I migrated all my stuff to Proton a few months back. Now, I’m wondering what to use next. Perhaps I should finally self-host my mail server.

Man, it's seriously exhausting reading all this nonsense from self-proclaimed AI experts who were doing something completely different a year ago.
They're just trying to stir up FOMO in companies that think they'll disappear from the market if they don't use AI.
You almost never see any objective, honest opinions on #AI and how to use them in enterprise/company context.
I got my StackChan from the M5 Kickstarter campaign today. The software is a little bit buggy, but it looks like it has a lot of potential. I need to check how the official firmware and the LLM integration work, and then I will try use my own backend for StackChan with local LLM.
Neighbor was kind enough to share her WiFi while we wait for the technician in two weeks to activate our DSL line.
Of course I immediately turned an unused Raspberry Pi into a WiFi-to-Ethernet bridge and hooked it to my UniFi gateway's WAN port. Now my entire network is back online, not just individual clients.

@flkbmr@mastodon.social schau dir mal die neuen Gemma 4 Modelle e2b und e4b an, welches für solche Geräte und Smartphones entwickelt wurden. Sind letzte Woche erst erschienen.
Für deinen use case brauchst du aber auch noch ein embedding Model, weshalb evtl. das Llama 7b eh nicht passen würde, außer du hast 16 GB RAM. Da du aber auf dein obsidian Wissen zugreifen willst, reichen 2b oder 4b aus.

@arti @kuketzblog ich weiß. Ist aber weniger als beim MSCI World und nur minimal höher als beim FTSE.
So lange man nicht komplett auf USA verzichtet will, muss man halt andere ETFs beimischen.
Am Ende muss es jeder für sich selbst entscheiden ☺️

@kuketzblog es gibt auch noch den MSCI ACWI. Hat einen ähnlichen hohen US Anteil wie der FTSE.
Man kann auch eine der beiden mit einem STOXX Europe kombinieren um die US Gewichtung weiter zu reduzieren.
Und natürlich BIG Tech meiden, damit ihre Marktkapitalisierung sinkt und somit auch Ihre Gewichtung in Indizes.

@pwa falls du doch vorhaben solltest zu wechseln, schau dir mal PocketID an. Ist schlank und Passkey only. Bin vor einem Jahr dorthin hin gewechselt.

I had an appointment today to switch DSL providers.
I called the new provider two hours after the scheduled time because no technician showed up.
The technician didn't complete the switch for no specific reason, and the next available appointment is in a week…
My old provider is disconnecting me today…
