@eff@mastodon.social banning kids from social media is hardly censorship. It's a very popular opinion that engagement algorithms are harmful, like drugs and alcohol. What alarms me is that everyone reached for server-side ID verification as a means to implement it, instead of ZKP, device-side parental restrictions, or other mechanisms.

@Luna@mastodon.world @eff@mastodon.social 100% yes. So I have to infer that parental restrictions UX isn't good enough or is too unintuitive. If there's a problem enough for people to be pushing for such insane orwellian restrictions, clearly something today is wrong.
