Bay Mud

I put together a quick checklist after my last live set of what I’d do differently next time (gear choices, rehearsal, setup, and expectations, etc.)

Might be useful if you’re prepping a set too: https://youtu.be/zpQjeGb20-s

Had fun seeing what I could make with nothing but white noise fed into the Chase Bliss Lost + Found pedal. A new series, maybe?

Just got back from a big trip, so that inspired me to take a look at my favourite travel gear for music making on the go https://youtu.be/uSHQVLuSlWA

Had fun using a MIDI pickup to play a different Deluge synth on each guitar string. Can be chaotic, but surprisingly playable with the right synth choices

Some lovely support on Bandcamp Friday. Always nice when someone leaves a note when buying an album (I should do that more when I grab stuff)

Had fun borrowing a friend's Drolo Stretch Weaver to try on a bunch of different sources. Cool way to use sidechaining. Anyone else try one? (posted this the other day, but apparently the link wasn't working) https://youtu.be/ZFqN_MxzlLI

Feeling good about 2 more Patient Whales tunes I'm finishing up for this year's #RPMchallenge, then I hope to add 1 more song next month and call that album finished. The next goal would be to try and merge some of that folkiness into the Bay Mud synthiness and see what happens

Listening party starting in 5 minutes if you feel like putting your feet up and tuning in/chatting https://patientwhales.bandcamp.com/live/patient-whales-ate-the-sea-listening-party

Big music weekend as there are 450 songs to listen to for the #RPMchallenge listening party! So much inspiring music https://rpmchallenge.com/en/listening-party/listen

I think I fooled a few people with the start of this video trying out the 3-channel looper firmware for the Simple Touch 2 https://youtu.be/LYOhUKl5AO0

Another #BandcampFriday just after I added 2 more songs to this noisy folk collection (hopefully 1 more to come). Up to 10 now! https://patientwhales.bandcamp.com

Finally got on the Count To 5 bandwagon. Having a lot of fun with this classic, like moving between all 3 modes with the same loop in this experimental jam. Anyone else got one? https://youtu.be/4h3r6TENu0E

My Bandcamp cart is very overstuffed after #RPMchallenge, so today could be expensive, but there's always so much great new music in March #BandcampFriday

Two more tracks added to the (still-growing) Patient Whales collection on Bandcamp. This one was written eons ago and initially performed live as Dog Is Blue with my wife, but I finally recorded it solo. The screamed backups were super fun to record https://patientwhales.bandcamp.com/track/back-to-bed
