Weekly notes are out now. I need to develop a process for making it easy. Each week I need to pressure my memory to remind myself what I did the whole week. Maybe it is just a sign that I am in auto-pilot mode with life and need to shuffle things up. https://thinkbacteria.pages.dev/notes/2026-07-11-weekly-note-9/ #WeeklyNotes #blogging #IndieWeb

Published this week's notes. I followed @readbeanicecream@mastodon.social suggestion and maintained a daily journal. That made the process of writing this far more simpler. I will try to stick to it. https://thinkbacteria.pages.dev/notes/2026-07-19-weekly-note-10/ #WeeklyNotes #IndieWeb

It is amazing, I quit Instagram, Google Search, Gmail 5 years ago and haven't looked back.

While I still depend on a Google Account for Tailscale, logging in my Android phone to install bank apps (cause they stopped working via Aurora store). I also have Google Maps app for navigation. Use Newpipe/Freetube for Youtube.

From Meta, I depend on WhatsApp.

And from Microsoft, I depend on GitHub and you can say VSCode, although I use the OSS version. Been a decade since I left Windows.

@archlinux@fosstodon.org Just thinking out lound but can't we have a more interesting system to improve the security of AUR? My suggestions: 1) Arch Packagers can appoint AUR maintainers who are trusted to benign. Maybe by number packages or votes on packages. 2) Every new AUR package should require to be approved by an AUR maintainer irrespective of the age of account.

Data For India

India's Gen Z is a shrinking demographic

With falling fertility, India's generational cohorts are experiencing a fundamental realignment. Younger cohorts are no longer dominant in size, and are increasingly squeezed by older cohorts.

@emilyyoung@tech.lgbt My conclusion from what I know is that making federated service encryption compatible is quite hard. It works for something like mastodon because there is no encryption involved. Anyone has any examples that are as good a user experience? I guess RCS could be one but I am not sure if it is as secure as Signal.
