Best Dolly Parton appreciation post I’ve seen.
(Sorry about the Instagram link, but I couldn’t find it on any more open platform.)
Huang: “For many tasks, we could say that we have already achieved AGI.” Altman defines AGI as “highly autonomous systems that outperform humans at most economically valuable work.”
“Many”? “Most economical”? Hey guys, the G stands for “general”, meaning all!

Wow. Was it faster in the other direction or did it take half a decade to get to Copenhagen?
Relieved to have found this stupid simple bug that’s been haunting me for two weeks, now I can move on! Nucleus to mitochondrion:
– You’re quite important aren’t you, the energy pack of the cell I hear. I expect you must be worth a thousand pounds a week.
– Not at all, actually. I just make 80p.
[You might have to read that out aloud to get the joke, and you might still not get it. I probably wouldn’t have if I hadn’t listened to the BBC In Our Time episode about mitochondria.]
My technical blog got its first comment from a human I don’t know. At least I think it’s a human, but could be AI of course. https://klipspringer.avadeaux.net/the-java-native-interface-to-c-code/#comments
If I was in the motion picture industry I think I’d be working at sound advice.
Since I recently lost my laptop computer (got it back after a couple of weeks), I’ve become paranoid about committing and pushing after every session.
