@ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org I want a knowledge outbreak. A creativity outbreak. An artistic outbreak.
Not a childhood disease outbreak

@ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org how I found out the changed the formula was interesting
Had to call them from the clinic to request toxicity info after someone drank a bunch
I was informed they had changed the formula years ago and toxicity from ingestion was vastly reduced and to expect diarrhea

@ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org they don't put isopropyl alcohol in Windex anymore
Potentially better to just do 50/50 denatured alcohol and distilled water

They are good drill presses even with dodgy ways, more capable (not necessarily better) than new dollar for dollar drill presses. But it's a 1200 kg machine…

@BrianJopek@mastodon.world my parents bought a Miata today.
They decided to tolerate the creaks and moans of entry and exit.
It'll either go to me or my brother when they're done with it because they got the manual and the granddaughters are not in that level of enlightenment

@Nonya_Bidniss@infosec.exchange Fair. Haber was very nearly Humboldt, and there was so much going on with internal consistency and rigor and formal logic right around him that I can see that as a fertile ground for a tremendous number of students and intellectual offspring

Like 600 MILES east to the border of the second state east

@Nonya_Bidniss@infosec.exchange one of my undergrad and near MS chemistry professors was formally an Air Force research chemist.
He would wax eloquent about the difference between the German trained rocket scientists (he was mostly talking about the fuels people because that was his specialty) and the American trained ones.
He was most pointed about the one German gray hair who saw the proposal for zip fuel as a rocket propellant and his only comment was "won't work". The Americans, confident in it's energetics, pressed on.
The gray haired German was right as the rockets would spew a great green jet, and then the fuel would form a refractory like component, plug the nozzle, and become a bomb. Usually at under 1000ft off the pad.
He always recommended (in the time of a paper library) "if you think you have a novel idea, check the abstracts. I'll buy you a beer if you find an idea the Germans didn't try between 1920 and 1940"
I can say a lot of criticisms of Nazi , yet I am curious about how they developed the talent that the US&A ultimately nabbed for better or worse
