@linrui@mathstodon.xyz @mdcory@mastodon.social @tao@mathstodon.xyz That's a cool materialist analysis, what is missing is the historical/social part. So I ask you: How does society change from one algorithm to another? Is it not caused by the development of production? Also the phrase "reflecting the ambition to micromanage every variable" in the Central Planning section is pretty subjective since the purpose of marxism is Democratic centralism. It is the same solution solved by the brain in the body. Abstraction solves complexity.

@FelisCatusDomesticus@vivaldi.net @rbreich@masto.ai Where will the billionaires billions go? Or where will their control of production go? Nowhere. They'll just use their influence to revert these reforms and well be in the same place or worse.

You claim I'm MAGA but you're a pro capitalist liberal who doesnt understand basic social power dynamics. Good luck voting for your next well manicured capitalist politician and praying they do right by you.

You trust your life and political will to good marketing.

@admiralwonderboat@mastodon.social Economic incentives of capitalists tech firms conspire to kill alt platforms. And the domination of capitalist media platforms isn't just an individual consumer choice, its an established domination of infrastructure and tech. They conspire to enforce a default. Viewing the world as the product of voluntary, individual choices is peak liberalism & a fundamental misunderstandings of the social forces that HAVE shaped our world.

@linrui@mathstodon.xyz @mdcory@mastodon.social @tao@mathstodon.xyz There is no "retreat". Leaking abstraction can be a feature, not a bug. A normal brain and all related nervous/feedback systems are enough to control individual humans, of trillions of cells and 70+ organs. Marx's theory of alienation is of estrangement from self interest. This fits in to @tao@mathstodon.xyz comment of large groups, and I said these groups control the production society needs for its own gain, yet uses society for the operation of said production. We are subjected by them

@linrui@mathstodon.xyz @mdcory@mastodon.social @tao@mathstodon.xyz I used "leak" to refer to local agency that still does not contradict wider goals. As in: the brain does not control every cell, but still a body functions in unison. Cancer would be a negative "leak". I think its important to frame society analogous to biology, since that's what it is (my obsessions with fractals tells me). @linrui@mathstodon.xyz Given your own arguments a multicellular body should be impossible. I view all of this as a struggle for a cohesive social "body".

@linrui@mathstodon.xyz @mdcory@mastodon.social @tao@mathstodon.xyz You've left materialism. There is no primary conscious center, or a soul. Consciousness is the body, its parts. Free will is a slippery and irrelevant concept. You are the sum experience of your body. This is encoded for your cells; you. Humans are not running wholly independent OS's. Not only do we share similar material bases, this makes us share similar needs. In our OS's is our distributed nature. You fail to see that the internet is a bunch of computers.
