Anjana Susarla
Omura-Saxena Professor of Responsible AI at the Broad College of Business at Michigan State University. My research broadly looks at the economics of information systems, social media analytics and the economics of artificial intelligence. I also like to write about Responsible AI and platform governance issues for a broader audience.

New piece for @TheConversationUS@newsie.social on the Biden Adminstration's sweeping new executive order on "Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence"
I was on Bloomberg Technology Live talking about the role of AI in election misinformation, and what platforms can do, at the 24:24 mark
A very complex issue for a short interview, but two points: (1) solving election misinformation is not a problem for AI alone, we need human intelligence as well, (2) we need transparency reports from platforms

Generative AI +network science =loads of teaching fun!
For example with this prompt: "Give me 40 pairs of the most important concepts of the subject area
"Information economics" in the format "concept 1; concept 2". Each entry is on a new line"
I can generate a CSV file and plot a network graph with Gephi.
Did the same for rock music and the results are even better (plus with a little tweaking can do song level vs. band level analysis)..
Yours truly quoted in this @nbcnews@newsie.social segment on Twitter's rebranding to X
The question of course is whether such a rebranding will enable two-sided platform capabilities (mechanisms for verification of transactions, payment and delivery) needed to turn Twitter into a super app.
