How to make sure you're not going to be on schedule: ask a question about file formats in a room full of archivists and digital preservation professionals. Discussion is guaranteed to snowball 😅

"AI startups are annihilating cash : nowhere are the subsidies higher than those of Anthropic and OpenAI, who use their tens of billions of dollars of funding to allow users to burn anywhere from $3 to $13 per every dollar of subscription."
"Anthropic and OpenAI will have to massively reduce the amount of tokens that people use."
A large part of AI demand only exists due to subsidies, and if these companies were to charge a sustainable rate, said demand would evaporate

"So, we're in endgame now. They see their chance to run the playbook again, and do to Wikipedians what Uber did to cab drivers, to get users addicted to closed apps like they are to social media" https://www.anildash.com/2026/03/27/endgame-open-web/
