#makevember 15: I can't claim that this is an original design idea, but I must've seen it on Mastodon maybe a year ago. Combine two inexpensive drawing compasses into a pair of multimeter probes that can be used one-handed while holding something else in the other hand

@MLE_online Seeing that seedpod reminded my of my parents' garden in Colchester. We called it honesty, and now I need to find a packet of seeds!

@hairymnstr@mastodon.social Thanks for alerting me to the Ramtron parallel FRAM chips! FM1808 is 32k x 8 and looks like a suitable memory for, say, a 6809 board. Shame they don't make them any more! https://uk.farnell.com/ramtron/fm1808-70-pg/ic-fram-parallel-256k-1808-dip28/dp/1210792

@hairymnstr@mastodon.social Have you considered adding FRAM to the Flopagon? Non-volatile like Flash, but does not need a write/erase cycle, just treat it like RAM. Was used on the PlayStation 2 Memory Card

@TerryHancock @MLE_online Not just the heat tolerance of the components, the melting point of the solder too
