@nixCraft@mastodon.social as a current macbook user and former thinkpad neckbeard, lenovo truly doesn't understand why people buy a macbook either. modern thinkpads are a compromise in all areas, and achieve nothing for it. I miss my X230.
"Elbows Up" has been a(n unfortunately cringe) rallying cry for Canada recently, but it's not enough to just get defensive; we need to build the future we want, not just complain about the present we have.

I think the mental degeneration that happens after AI use is most prominent in software circles because it turns shape rotators into wordcels. Can't visualize a whole system in your head anymore because now you think in paragraphs.
the sheer amount of spam email you get after you buy IPv4 addresses is unbelievable. so many sketchy middlemen crawling into your inbox wanting a piece of the action. IPv6 dominance can't come soon enough.
