@jensimmons@front-end.social +1 to service workers, and also CSS grid. For both, I would find it specifically valuable to learn simpler ways to achieve common use cases. I think those are the APIs I most frequently find myself overcomplicating things with or not realizing a useful feature exists.

@iFixit My most recent repair win was fixing an unexpected mechanical failure on my bike while I was out by jerry rigging a temporary fix to get me to the nearest hardware store and then doing a better repair to get me home.
I love that iFixit helps me save my laptops and other devices and get them back on their feet in the same way!

@Starfia@mastodon.social @jensimmons@front-end.social Yes! I love some of the clever things I have learned to do with service workers, but if I want simple offline caching à la app cache, it always ends up feeling overcomplicated.
