@glyph@mastodon.social Do you know anyplace to post jobs specifically of the form “we are *not* demanding you use LLMs?” My company is trying to find a new Infra lead and all the candidates are… not actually able to do the work, many because they appear to be mostly ChatGPT by volume. It just occurred to me you might have a suggestion.

@allpoints@mstdn.social @weezmgk@mastodon.social I had great success with the PAR EF-Quad as a QTH antenna (and still use it frequently for POTA). Even lighter and more capable options are the https://www.aerial-51.com antennas; the 807-HD is my current QTH antenna, and even hung in a severely compromised way (it forms a near-complete perimeter of my roof, hung 9ft up from the roof line) it does *excellently*. They’re OCF, not EF, but worth checking out. Available in the US at www.vibroplex.com/contents/en-us/d9190.html#p3583 .

@aurynn FWIW, I’d be happy to pay annually if that would help (likely lower fees), via Stripe or whatever you choose.

“Close” is not good enough. Though I have to admit, Google’s RNG falling victim to the propaganda in a book about propaganda and thought control is on point, if so unsubtle that an editor would reject it….

@mattblaze@federate.social FWIW, I have a Series 5 I use constantly (still) which has been out of updates for years; it still works perfectly well for all the features you mention. So all may not be lost. YMMV of course!

@mattblaze@federate.social The jogging kind or the drug kind? I’ve heard the latter sucks.

@keunwoo@indieweb.social @lcamtuf@infosec.exchange @simplenomad@rigor-mortis.nmrc.org Ah, actually you’re a bot account; your *only* posts are to harass a blind author who disagrees with you. Kindly take a long walk off a short plank.

@lcamtuf@infosec.exchange @simplenomad@rigor-mortis.nmrc.org You both might enjoy this (long but definitely human-created read) from a blind author about, as lcamtuf pointed out, the human condition and writing vs LLMs. https://sightlessscribbles.com/posts/the-colonization-of-confidence/

@quinn@social.circl.lu A new term of which you might want to be aware, modeled on the history of the word “vegan”: https://zuzai.org/
