Writer friends! (And everyone.) It's that time of year: 'Best Of' and 'Awards Eligibility' lists. People rightly celebrating their accomplishments. It's easy to feel you haven't accomplished much. I feel that way every year. The churn of publishing is exhausting. If you've sat down to write or plot, to send a submission, to read, to daydream, to take notes, gone to a con, queried, etc.—and even if you haven't—I tip my hat to you. You're here. You're carrying on. That's plenty accomplishment.
It's a new day, a new month, and we continue to seek joy. Announcing the inaugural volume of The Best Weird Fiction of the Year, coming November.

Delighted to see @acwise@writing.exchange 's "The Ghost Sequences" up for an Audie Award (The AudioBooks of the Year).

Gobsmacked to see the World Fantasy Awards ballot. Congratulations to all the Finalists, especially Hiron Ennes for their story in Weird Horror. Woot! And, improbably, I'm a double-nominee. What a day!
Thank you to the judges. What a stellar ballot.

I was thrilled to be interviewed by the delightful Myna Chang. If you've got a few minutes and want to know what me and Undertow are doing, please give it a read.

The highest praise for @ThomasHa@wandering.shop UNCERTAIN SONS, from one of the very best. We're 4 months out from pub date. It's a great weekend to pre-order.
Some joy for today, a new story up at Weird Horror: Malcolm Devlin's strange and enigmatic "Her Alberta." A fusion, I daresay, of Robert Aickman and Elizabeth Hand, but quintessentially Devlin. Artwork by Shikhar Dixit.
Today we present Spencer Nitkey's strange, surreal, and beautiful story "In the Dream, He is Skinless and Beautiful."
Artwork by Shikhar Dixit.
Reminder that Locus Awards Poll Voting is open and we'd be happy if you considered us, but vote your favourites. Terrific stuff, as always.
Friends. 5 years ago we published Kay Chronister's startling debut "Thin Places." The Locus blurb was prophetic. Kay's work is incredible. Our rights to the book expire next month. I have about 20 paperback copies left, if you'd like to grab one.
Here's a handy link to show you where you can currently pre-order (aside from directly) Thomas Ha's UNCERTAIN SONS in eBook and print.
I am delighted to see that Northern Nights has made the 2024 Locus Recommended Reading List. And Premee Mohamed's story "The Night Birds" is also on the list. To mark the occasion I've put the eBook on sale for $4. Cheers!
