Always bought bulk gummi bears and they were always hard because they sat in a breathable bin. To this day, gummi bears are purchased and spend a week or two on the counter opened so they can harden up before consuming. Thank you, Lamme's Candy for great memories and habits.

My favorite pinball machine was/is Jungle King by Bally, I think. When your quarter triggered your game, it also made a knock noise that sounded like rapping on wood. That particular game had an "add a ball" feature that made that same knock when you won another ball. That knock sound was so satisfying. I could play that game all evening on one quarter.

We hear them here on the Texas Blackland Prairie most every evening. Seems lonely when we don't hear them. We rarely see them but we do occasionally. A friend once gave me a 50lb bag of milk replacer for calves that had become hard as a rock. Not knowing what to do with it, I unwrapped it and left it in the pasture in front of our house so the rain could melt it into the soil. This was crack cocaine to coyotes. They dropped all caution to lick it. We saw them every morning.
