I connected Firefox Smart Window to a local LLM just to see what would happen… it made seemingly nonstop requests in the background for I don’t even know what. Preloading suggested questions/actions, I guess? Glad it’s an option to run locally, but I doubt I’ll use it at all.

Furality has been really fun this weekend. Just like an IRL con, I got to meet up with people, walk around the dealer’s den, and only went to 1 panel so far lol.
In my head I didn’t expect a VR con to wear me out so much. There’s a concert and another panel later today I wanna go to, then closing ceremonies tonight. And somewhere in there I still need to walk around the dealer’s den more because I haven’t even seen half of it yet! All that before work tomorrow, hehe.
Just doing some self care this afternoon before hopping back in.

Uh… oops. I set up the new password requirements at work yesterday, and overnight the monitoring software apparently forced a password reset for every existing password that didn’t meet it.
I thought it was only gonna screen future changes, not retroactively email ~80 people…
Brief power outage last night, but I still had a great time at Furality! Looking forward to spending more time and meeting more people!

@kianga@fedi.tail.ooo I know for passwords that were set before it was installed, it can only check the hash and match against that. But for passwords set since it was installed, it definitely seems to know what they are… unless it just kept track of “this password is 8 characters long and has uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols”

@nanianmichaels@tech.lgbt I can’t find where I saw it now, but I think the 2-tone color scheme is exclusive to the technology package for this model. There’s some white/black styling on the rear that’s a bit different from the standard white color option too

@kianga@fedi.tail.ooo hmm, good point I actually don’t know how the software stores them, but I guess it must somehow. It also has “fuzzy match” capability, so it knows to treat “apple” and “4pp1e” as the same string.
I sure hope whatever local database it uses is encrypted :neofox_sweat:
