I would very much like a week of precedented times please.

I'd love a boring, uneventful time.

I wish people would be kind to each other, and stop othering people who seem unusual to them.

I wish people were more curious about others and less fearful.

I wish that money didn't equal power

I wish people cared about the world around them, and held it in common. Even with those they didn't know personally.

(Note: by people I mean those who we see widely represented in the media)

As a white woman I don't see much racism on fedi. Of course I don't, I'm clearly white. That's white privilege.

Yes I'm disabled, I'm a woman and am disadvantaged by that but those disadvantages would be magnified if I were also black.

Do I believe black people who say they experience racism here? Well why the hell wouldn't I? How does it benefit them to lie about it?

If I see racism that I recognise (and I'm not great at that but am trying to be better) I will report and block.

9 years?

Terry Pratchett left us 9 years ago today? I'm still utterly furious that Death didn't see fit to return him.
I learnt to think for myself due to Pratchett. I learnt to value others and learn from our differences. I learnt that just because lots of people say something it doesn't make it right.

Most importantly, I learnt to be me

I never met him, but I miss reading his new words more than I can explain.

How is everyone? I've been mostly posting on my beige account, but have now remembered to log in on my phone so I may have a fighting chance of saying hi occasionally

The thing about this sudden #climate catastrophe is that it isn't remotely sudden.

Speak to Pacific islanders, the Arctic people groups, the people in low lying coastal regions of Africa. They've been telling us this for decades.

It's just now it's happening to us. We chose to only give it lip service and say we were doing enough whilst massaging the figures to enable us all to carry on as though nothing was happening.

It's been almost 13 months since my brother and nephew died, since the house in Wigan where I grew up burnt fiercely.

I still miss them deeply. I always will.
Some days now they aren't the first thing I remember.
But I still desperately wish I could have one evening playing card games with him again. To laugh so much it hurts and chat complete bollocks.

I haven't dreamt about him in months. I miss those dreams now, even though they were so painful at the time.
