Music from the 80ies and more
@Music_From_The_80ies@mastodontech.de
mastodon 4.7.3Music lover and musician. In love with music. I will mostly post music from the 80ies, music that my friends and me listened to in the 80ies (mostly the more obscure songs, experimental, avantgarde), but also music I like these days. I love music from all ages and many styles. Working in the IT industry.

Thank you, but my question regarding emails is: If I subscribe to an artist, do I get to see her/his posts on the site or does the artist see my email address (more a question about privacy)?

I happened on this idea, because I was working for an artist, when I studied computer sciences. He constructed big, transforming sculptures moved by electric motors. He was always out of money, so he contacted IBM, because he thought his art could be interesting to them. And indeed, they sponsored him, all he had to do in return was put up signs in front of his sculptures "Sponsored by IBM". That was quite some time ago, though.

In the end, this is the Hamming distance at work (from a mathematical point of view).
A method to measure the distinguishability of words (or codes, in a broader sense)

@kuketzblog@social.tchncs.de Musicplattformen "ächzen" unter dem ganzen Slop, der sie flutet. Mehrere haben jetzt schon eine (schwer durchzusetzende) No-AI-Klausel
Interesting and funny article about several electronic instruments (in the widest sense) from the past, starting in 1805 (!).

Ja, nervt sehr. Auch der ganze Quatsch auf Youtube.
AI-generierte Musicvideos werden sehr schnell langweilig und sehen auf eine bestimmte Art alle gleich aus.

@kimbruundk@mastodon.social The German original "Schaufensterpuppen" is even better. English was not one of Kraftwerk strong suites.

@badastro Unpredictable results, as you write. What is the legal situation? Could some billionaire just do that or do international laws or regulations exist regarding the atmosphere that could prevent such actions?

I didnt know he composed the song "Love in Vain" covered by the Rolling Stones on the album "Let it Bleed". He also composed "Me and the Devil", covered by "Soap&Skin" and Gil Scott-Heron (excellent version)!

@elsemusic Isn't that the perfect motivation for creating a song? I can hear you had fun recording this.

@kimbruundk@mastodon.social Collapsing new buildings is the translation of "Einstürzende Neubauten".
The Neubauten and Depeche Mode shared record company and studio at that time.
Dave Gahan once mentioned that the Neubauten considered Depeche Mode to be "Kindermusik".
Daniel Miller was the person responsible for Depeche mode's sound and samples, he also published the single "Warm Leatherette" under the name "The Normal".

Is there a way of just giving a "Like" to one song of an artist? And a list of "Likes" available would also be nice, to find songs again without following the artist.
Question: If I follow someone it says "You have now subscribed to emails from xyz". Does that mean, my email-address is revealed to the person I am following?

Have you thought about trying to get a sponsor? As far as I understood, your music is in parts trying to visualize algorithms and relations of numbers (I may be completely wrong). May be IBM or some other big IT corporation would support you.
With IBM I would use the quantum computer research they have been doing for years and years. Prepare an example or two of music related to quantum "algorithms". Otherwise it's hard to gain a living with the music you compose, from my point of view.
