Ah, yes. An inclusivity and belonging conference that can only be attended or presented at on location. For a campus with a lot of online students, that's super inclusive and creates a real sense of belonging. Yep, sure does.

Even though they are not apparent to you, my disabilities color every second of my life.
Let's talk about #SlowLibrarianship, #CritLib, #MedLibs, #Libraries, #Librarians, #LIS, #ERM, #accessibility, #UX, #privacy, #cats, or whatever!

We need to impress upon kids that how long it takes you to do something does not equate to the quality of what you end up with. I could spend 50 hours building something that someone else spends 10 hours on, and their version could be amazing while mine is not.
Watch out, peeps. Next to be attacked is the ability to have our own bank account or a credit card.
"The good ol' days" weren't for more than half of the population. And we shouldn't be trying to return to them just for others to take control of our lives again.

Our budget has sure never been essential.
Our lives obviously weren't essential.

(This was released in 1998, so this kind of thing isn't getting better. Instead, it's getting worse.)
I'm attending a session for Women's History Month, and one of the panel speakers answered the question about how her experiences as a woman has informed her scholarship as an academic researcher:
"My anger as a woman. I know we're taught to be kind, etc., but I'm angry."
I love it when one person I really like meets another person that I really like and they hit it off. This happened recently & they both said, "I felt like I knew them already though you!"
I want all the cool people in my life to meet.
Our local Starbucks unionized! It's the first in our state to do so!
