@baardhaveland@snabelen.no that phrase seems to refer only to the "explicit" "AI" features. Earlier they wrote: "AI features in Ubuntu features will come in two forms: first as a means of enhancing existing OS functionality with AI models in the background, and latterly in the form of “AI native” features and workflows for those who want them." Sounds like some of those "features" will be unavoidable. @phoronix@masto.ai

@linguacelta@toot.wales third, LLMs are basicly a real-live implementation of Behaviorist language models, so even if the Behaviorist model was accurate in regards to human language processing, it evidently can still be described in terms of computational models, otherwise we weren't able to use LLMs in our modern-day von-Neumann machines...

@linguacelta@toot.wales terrible article. First, the author builds a strawman argument and claims it to be "mainstream" (i mean, who seriously claims that brains work *exactly* like a computer?! It is a model, an abstraction...) and secondly, even his view of the human brain can easily paraphrased using terms from computation. In the end, even stimuli-response-interaction is just another way of information processing...

@Catweazle as i understand, google pays Mozilla to be their default search engine, and that is how they fund development of their render engine. But the engine itself is independent from google's code, while Chromium is developed by Google directly. My point is that Gecko could exist without Google (if Mozilla found another source of income), while Chromium does not. @alaknar @jon
