@gamingonlinux@mastodon.social "But I find it useful"

@notthebee@tilde.zone every day I'm suffering. *dances in front on a monitor showing a package conflict*

@lina I often say computers were a mistake and I should have become a butcher or a monk.

@geerlingguy@mastodon.social I'm trying to promote anti-AI at work. I will bring up damage to Open Source, I think I will find myself next to alone on it.

@Craigp@mastodon.social Ah gimp. I tended to use its Christian name (as in no acronym) when talking to those out of the culture. Could have called it IMP. BLIMP. Nah. Gimp. As in a perverted stereotype, an ableist slur or catch all for a disability depending on where you are.

@chickfilla@tilde.zone A few months ago I installed Windows 8 on a spinning rust i5-6500 system. Needed to do a specific firmware task and this was the path of least resistance Oh good lord, it's actually really OK to use. What is unbearable in Win 10/11 is absolutely "fine" in Win8.

@notthebee sorry man. I have so many problems with LLMs that losing passion wouldn't even break the top 10, but yet it probably hurts the most. Maybe we should move into self hosted knitting?

@ridge at one stage ~2013-2020 or so, one of the techniques to get better loading times and streaming on HDD based consoles was to have multiple copies of some assets on the disk to reduce the time the head moved to get a file. This is a neat trick but yes, makes games take even more space up.

@frameworkcomputer Cyberjank 2025.

@TechConnectify my wife laughed out loud to your process. Loved the video.

@ridge And yet it'll take 5 to end them. Go. Go to Cottonwood Cove and show those shit head larpers what for

@ridge You know I just had to think of Doc Weathers for some reason.

@opensuse@fosstodon.org Stop with the slop.

@hstone32@mastodon.social @ahoneybun@hachyderm.io new band name. Heavy metal about destroying stars
