Today’s espresso on the patio: 72F/22C, light breeze. High thin haze with the sun illuminating the wildfire smoke below. The smoke, combined with a next door neighbor running an internal combustion pressure washer, make this experience suboptimal. Wah.

Their main job seems to be raising campaign funds, first to get elected, then to build up re-election funds, but also so that they can make the required donations to the national parties. Sort of like organized crime.
