Buy living lettuce. Eat lettuce leaves. Plant lettuce stump in pot. Regrow lettuce. Eat lettuce leaves. Repeat.

This feels like vegetable piracy. And I love it. 🥬 🧑‍🌾 🥗 😋

@smallsco @ActionRetro Circa 2004-ish, my workplace had an old PC with Linux installed acting as our ISP failover router. A colleague set it up and it was replaced pretty quickly after he left, but it served well for a time.

@Karma_J@mastodon.social @nocontexttrek@mastodon.social The truly great thing about this scene? Several patents for transparent aluminum were filed right around the time this film took place. Meaning that we're obviously living in the timeline where Scotty changed the future by leaking the formula to the past. 😁 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aluminium_oxynitride

Working in tech is frequently exhausting. Late hours doing maintenance work when you should be relaxing, enjoying yourself, or focusing on personal matters. The bodily-trauma reaction of getting a text message on a weekend from someone at your workplace. And now, everything A.I.

I can and have handled a LOT in my decades working in IT, but today is a day I just want to cry. I'm genuinely afraid for our technology and infrastructure future.

Hopefully you other geeks can understand. That's all.

@DosFox Hey look! Back in 2022, someone used a similar trick to run 9.2.2 on the Wii. https://hackaday.com/2022/11/24/its-macos-on-an-unmodified-wii/

It’s MacOS. On An Unmodified Wii!

We’re used to the so-called “Hackintoshes”, non-Apple hardware running MacOS. One we featured recently was even built into the case of a Nintendo Wii. But [Dandu] has gone one bet…

@DosFox What about the efforts to run those versions on CHRP hardware? EDIT: Nah, my bad. The CHRP versions cap out at 8.0, so the gap is still there.

It's still a *little* jank, but I assure you it's much cleaner and professional-looking than before. All it took was some rack rails, 3D-printing, and a little ingenuity. 😁

If you enjoyed the fact that I designed and 3D-printed a custom rear ports cover for the my Power Macintosh Blue & White G4 mod, you can now download that model for yourself on MakerWorld (if you happen to be doing that exact same, super-specific mod).

Now with icons!

G4 AGP Ports Cover - Free 3D Print Model - MakerWorld

Download this free 3D print file designed by Geekman. This is a component for retro Power Macintosh towers. It is a rear ports cover which allows you to use a Power Macintosh G4 (AGP) motherboard in a Power Macintosh G3 (Blue & White) case. I created this for a personal project. If you happen to be undertaking the same extremely rare mod, hopefully you will find this useful! If you print this, I highly recommend using a 0.2mm nozzle for added resolution of the recessed port icons. @geerlingguy@mastodon.social Some advice would be helpful (maybe an expanded video?) for those of us who bought into the Bambu ecosystem during its heyday and intended it to be THE ONE 3D printer we were going to own for the foreseeable future. My guess: Turn on LAN mode and use a 3rd-party slicer?
