the internet was so strange when I was a child that this is how I got on it: My parents were deeply abusive and into SATANIC PANIC. I was forbidden from playing d&d or doing anything they considered demonic. (everything.) I had a paperroute but they took all the money. I was like 9. I embezzled my own tips, waited until they were out of the house, had a SECOND PHONE LINE INSTALLED (no cellphones yet, ground lines) when they were out, then (again using my embezzled tips) signed up for dial up internet. When they found out I had the internet I told them it came with the computer, and they accepted it until I was 15. Again, I did this when I was nine. And I was perfectly safe as a nine year old on the internet. It was by and large wierd, lots of stuff didn't work or broke, but it was not vapid, unsafe, stupid, filled with mindless arguments. It was largely free (not entirely but largely) of judgment, racism or facism. There was no tracking, no paywalls, no mass access. That place, that time, has been entirely destroyed.

I wrote this one page story in a writing workshop I went to last week We were assigned a random image and needed to make a short story based off of it.

In particular, some of these you may not have heard of: Phantasy Star IV: Play it on a genesis rom/emulator. The final in the main series competing with Final Fantasy (and a far better one) - this series was murdered in its sleep to make way for a reboot/mmo. This RPG was the last RPG made for the Sega Genesis, and it shows. It's...amazing. It deals with grief and loss, an open world across multiple planets in a solar system...its ahead of its time. Ultima 4: This was a game where you needed to find enlightenemnt instead of slaying a bad guy, and helped me not kill myself in 4th grade, along with Ultima 5, which deals with religious corruption. Amazing games. Planescape: Torment - the best written RPG ever, so far, essentially 2.5 million words of interactive story. Shakespeare-quality stuff in a world unlike any other. Knights of the Old Republic: Better than 'a new hope'. Seriously. Shadowrun Genesis: An open world RPG in an era decades ahead of them being a thing. Arguably better than the more recent games with a better story. Vampire Bloodlines: The only good World of Darkness game. Open world, all the clans, multiple endings, still has an active modding community. Deus Ex: "If there was no God, It would be necessary to invent him." - Voltaire --the single greatest fps-rpg ever made, by far. Three endings. Philosophical dialogue. Nonviolent play options. A plot that will make you think. An active mod community to this day.

My old d&d players are were getting tired and burnt out DMing themselves without me, so have requested I DM again. Specifically, they wanted 'something mixing wuxia and historical china'. So I've been reading, for the first time, chinese history and philosophy. HOLY SHIT the warring states are an interesting period. It does highlight for me however, that when we think of 'bronze age empires' a lot of these empires were able to exist because the peasants were farming crops that all...kinda were ready for harvest at the same time, in places where the peasants couldn't leave? Like a lot of these big empires were extraction machines, like today, and not the zenith of their civilization. That aside, wow there is some wild stuff here. I'm currently working on a 309 BC campaign involving vampires and geopolitics and the quest for immortality leading up to the unification of China.

But due to the US localization they set Shining in the Darkness as a prequel to Shining Force and make the villain the same.

i made a total conversion of VTM: dark ages to wuxia yesterday for this, but one of them is like 'wouldn't shadowrun work better, it has way better martial arts' so I might use shadowrun 5e instead? my intent is for them to start in warring states, reach the rise and reign of Qin Shi Huang, then go forward to ROTK.

So I have a few issues.

1. I'm still on estrogen pills. Right now its 2 mg 2x/day

2. Despite no family history of male or female hair loss, and none before going on hrt, 4 years in mine continues to worsen and I'm not sure why. It's so thin. Its not...I can still hide it, but despite being on finasteride and 2.5 mg/day oral minoxodil I have no idea what to do. My iron and protein levels were low for awhile but i've been trying to get them back up.

Questions.

1. For a trans girl switching to estrogen injectables, what should my dosage be? I've had an orchi. Someone on discord said 30 mg/5 days, but the local hrt clinic (which is notoriously bad) suggested 10 mg/7 days, (several months after I asked about switching) - whats a good dosage?

2. Anyone have ideas about the fucking hair?
