This week: "Mum, can my mates and I have a game of 5-a-side in the lounge?"
"Of course you can, my love. Would you like me to bring snacks on at half time?"
Week 6: "Mum, I'm just going up to my room to read a book"
"CAN'T YOU SEE I'M BUSY! WILL YOU EVER STOP INTERRUPTING ME?"

Any suggestions? I'm thinking; school pudding, urban potholes, NCP car parks, Cornish (rather then Devon) pasties, the A399 through Brayford (that one might be a bit niche), the Farage Grift. Well, you get the idea

I need this on a giant wall screen with surround sound stereo. Beautiful
I'm just starting on my 4th Slow Horses book. And this is the pre-introduction page... and if you know Jackson Lamb....
So I've had this idea. All this talk in the news about potentially banning social media and even phones from under-sixteenth year olds. How about giving them something like Mastodon (or Bluesky) which have no algorithms by design in their home feeds. Remove the trendings, searches etc and give the 'follow' controls to their responsible adult. They can then stay in contact with their friends and support networks
Would that work?
I know many of you lovely folk might be thinking about supporting the RNLI after all the nasty stuff in the news (there's usually a positive backlash) but I have to admit my donations are not totally selfless. This quarterly is a cracking good read for anyone interested in boat or sea. And a trip to their college in a Poole is an unforgettable experience. And if you really want to trigger the zombies, there a great article about helping the fishers in Zanzibar on Lake Victoria
