I take notes with a camera. Besides my authentic photography (see https://take-note.com/about), I'm also interested in promoting the work of other "first-person" photographers, and protecting all authentic photography (analog or digital) from generative AI. And smashing neofascist capitalism. When I’m home, I’m in Montana. #Authentic #Photography #Solidarity #DemocraticSocialism

"Age verification" means that everyone who does anything online will have to submit to fine-grained tracking and recording of all their online activities. This nightmare is the surveillance advertising industry's fondest dream, a world where it's literally *illegal* to avoid their tracking, all in the name of saving kids…from them! — @pluralistic@mamot.fr from https://pluralistic.net/2026/06/23/destroy-the-village/#to-save-it

I was going to attend the @pluralistic@mamot.fr lecture this week in Denver, but unfortunately can’t. Instead, this article by Cory appeared on Sunday in The Guardian. It’s what follows enshittification (hint: the AI bubble will burst but what then?), well worth the read.

@timbray@cosocial.ca I used to use their tools a lot (after they bought Aldus PageMaker). But it became increasingly difficult to use, owing to the change in who their end user was, well covered by this article. Now you almost need a masters degree in Adobe to use it. This also explains why C2PA has failed to take off.

@davidsirota@mastodon.online “Quietly” is the way the corporate media describe this capitulation. The silence is deafening. Also, https://prospect.org/2026/04/13/congressional-black-caucus-support-spying-powers-blm-activists-fisa-702/

Congressional Black Caucus to Support Spying Powers Used on BLM Activists - The American Prospect

The Congressional Black Caucus will support the clean reauthorization of FISA Section 702, a warrantless surveillance authority that has been used to spy on African Americans.
