This is World Curlew Day. To celebrate a recording of this increasing rare bird taken on the banks of the River Ilen in West Cork last summer. (The music in the background was from a function at nearby Inishbeg House.)
Another view of the standing stones at Foherlagh, between #Ballydehob and #Skibbereen in #WestCork, which are featured in my masthead. This time the view to the west with Mount Gabriel on the Mizen Peninsula dominating the horizon.

I am delighted to have an article in this year's Journal of the Cork Historical & Archaeological Society on the Rev. Edward Spring and his mission to Roaring Water Bay. Next Wednesday, 25 October at 8pm, I will deliver a talk on this topic to the Skibbereen Historical Society in the O’Donovan Rossa GAA Pavilion, Skibbereen. See https://tinyurl.com/4cuf5y4k
