Wawa put in a gas station near Orlando international airport because their CEO was visiting and got pissed off by the price gouging gas stations nearby, last time I was there the Wawa was still charging reasonable prices and at least one of the other gas stations was still way overpriced (although that might be the gas station in Orlando that doesn’t want to be a gas station, they just want to be a convenience store but zoning forces them to keep gas pumps so they price the gas at obscene rates to try to keep people from buying it).

Okay, I just looked it up, that one is just price gouging the tourists with rental cars. The one that doesn’t want to sell gas, at least according to local rumors, is the one on Vineland, I definitely recall it from going to the outlet mall but I don’t completely remember where on Vineland it is.

In the US, your state's department of weights and measures might care. They're the ones who verify grocery store scales, taxi cab fare meters, gas pumps... they exist to make sure you're not getting ripped off. If you're in a blue state they care, in a red state ymmv.

I'm in the Twin Cities, I'm guessing the person you're responding to is in a first or second ring suburb (and I'm not dismissing their experience for that - ICE never left Minnesota, they're just operating in the suburbs now where it's harder to build a response against them so they're seeing some shit right now), but concealed carry permit requests are *way* up right now in the twin cities proper. People here are buying guns in response to the gestapo. I don't know anyone personally who has purchased a firearm, but I've seen the local news articles about the phenomenon.

Quite a few of my local Chinese places still use the clamshell takeout ones. It's the worst. The plastic and the stereotypical one both work really well. The Styrofoam is good at leaking all the sauce out the sides.

Hank Green has a video on his channel where he ranks AI company logos based on how much they look like buttholes. Butt it’s not just AI companies - I ordered something from Walmart last year and I was looking at the box in my recycling, thinking the snowflake pattern was kinda cool… then I thought about that Hank Green vid and realized that the Walmart star kinda looks like a butthole too.

I live in the Twin Cities Minnesota and my work has me dealing with a lot of people doing this kind of gig work. A lot of the immigrant regulars stopped working during metro surge and some of them just never came back. I hope they found better work but I know at least some were just straight up kidnapped by the Gestapo. It’s fucked.

Default blocks are difficult, one of the things the dev of the Tesseract frontend got absolutely roasted for a few months ago was for how aggressive the block list was and blocking Blähaj just reeks of transphobia. (The primary issue was his lack of disclosure of the existence of the block list.) There is no low controversy way of making a default block list beyond what we already do with most instances defederating a couple of the most egregious instances.
