@danny@social.sutcliffe.xyz I rarely ever purchase a 2L because nowadays they seem to lose all of their carbonation after the first opening. I'll only buy one if my foid promises to drink the whole thing over the course of an hour or two
I'm not a big soda drinker myself, but on extra hot days like this, it's a lot more hydrating than my usual black coffee because of the sodium

@elftummy@poa.st hm, very good point. I used to do exclusively cans and still keep a few spare boxes for traveling etc, however I found that 2L bottles are significantly cheaper. Perhaps it isn't worth the tradeoff, though I am able to drink about 1-1.5 2L bottles per day so it never goes fully flat. I agree with soda being more hydrating than coffee, I only ever drink coffee if I really need the extra caffeine lol

@danny@social.sutcliffe.xyz If you drink enough of it, and value is what you're after, you may be able to save some money with an upfront investment by installing your own soda fountain at home and then purchasing the 5 gallon bag in a box of syrup from a restaurant supply store
I have been considering it for a while because my foid is addicted to Dr pepper almost as much as a Mormon
But I have not bitten the bullet because every few months her taste changes and she picks a new soda
Earlier this year, it was root beer, and before that, it was diet Coke.
Sure, I could probably get a new syrup every time she changes but it's impossible to predict when that will be and I don't want to waste half a bag of syrup

@elftummy@poa.st to be honest I have considered that, especially since I think it usually tastes better that way.
I also considered such as a soda-stream, but those are costly, more so than a fountain like that in the long term due to operational costs.
I had one addicted to Dr pepper also, I'm personally not keen on it but whatever.
I'm very confident that I wouldn't have the issue of syrup bag wastage, as my taste has never changed. My main issue would be having to maintain it as I often put off things like that lol

@danny@social.sutcliffe.xyz Maintenance is super easy because it's meant for fast food restaurants that hire literal retards. Just keep it clean and soak the nozzle in cleaning agent at least once per week.
Soda stream is literally a jewish scam. It's like the juicero if you remember that nonsense

@elftummy@poa.st haha the juicero lol
Good point about the maintenance. My concern would also be in getting official syrup, as I'm not sure if they just let any old regular joe buy it. I could always place an order through a company though lol
I wonder if having a restaurant grade soda fountain would be attractive to someone buying a home, I could imagine it to be a gimmick that at least some people would really like

@danny@social.sutcliffe.xyz If you get a nice one, and build it into your kitchen, and the buyer is mormon or black, then yeah they'd definitely add value to the home
As for where to source the legit syrup - I don't know where you live but in the US we have a nationwide chain Gordon Food Service that sells them at a good price, and there's also a lot of local restaurant supply stores that sell them.

@elftummy@poa.st lol
I'm in the UK and I don't know of any places, though I haven't looked either. It just feels like one of those things they wouldn't sell to regular joes, a bit like how most pallet liquidation companies only sell to businesses for example
Anyway, I'll add it to my list of "things to do at some point™"

@danny@social.sutcliffe.xyz Our admins are also stupid strict, just over retarded stuff
For example your country has virtually no stop signs
My country, they're everywhere, and if you don't completely stop, they'll use it as an excuse to rob you.
