I turned 16 right around when 9/11 happened, I remember it was a constant rise after that and people were pissed as fuck, blaming Bush Jr.

I was 17 during the first Gulf War. People got a little pissed at Bush Sr. when gas went from .89¢ to $1.05 for a few months.
